Welcome to the Corinium Clay Pigeon Shooting Club website!

2008 CALENDAR NOW POSTED

Members please note: The AGM will be held at 9.15am before the John Hopes Cup on the 27th January 2008.

The Club

The Corinium Clay Pigeon Shooting Club was started in the 1960's and has shot at  Jarvis Quarry on the Tetbury Road outside Cirencester ever since then.  It shoots every other Sunday (see calendar), and you need to book in between 10.00 and 10.15 am. Guests are welcome and the Club does hold a Section 11(6) certificate from Gloucestershire Police allowing non certificate holders to shoot. They will need to be accompanied by a Club officer - which is not usually a problem as shoots are squadded - but let the secretary know, preferably before you turn up. The Club is essentially for intermediate to experienced sporting clay shooters who are certificate holders. If you have not shot before the Club recommends you have some lessons at a shooting school first. The club shoots every other Sunday, see calendar for dates. For location map click here. Every other shoot is a competition, for which there is fine selection of trophies. If you would like to see a selection of photos taken by members then click here for members photos.

News

We had an excellent quality of shoots in 2007 and huge thanks are due to Les Barron and his team, Derek Vines and Jordan Burns, for all the work they have put in. The tower has produced some challenging birds, and it has been great to have it back in action. Improved controls for the traps has also meant we have been able to have plenty of variety, and nobody has achieved a straight 50, even if some got close!

Sad news to report was the passing on of two club stalwarts, Ron Jarrett and Harry Johnson. Both were members from the start and Harry was Treasurer for many years. His son, James, is carrying on the tradition and shooting with us.

There is a steady flow of new members and the club looks forward to some good shooting in 2008. Come and join us!

Scores

Scores are saved as Acrobat pdf files. Click on the year to view.

2002   2003    2004   2005   2006   2007

All members scores are logged on the Club's computer program, kindly written by Ray Cranfield. Once you have shot a number of shoots it will start to calculate your average and, hopefully, your improvement! A number of handicapped shoots are held each year so you have a good chance of winning a cup by shooting a good score (by your standards!) on the day.
